US turns a blind eye if business can benefit
Re: "Why India is the worst place to be a woman", Opinion, July 27.
Despite the tragedies outlined in the editorial, it left out one of the most dastardly covered-up facts about the subject: more women disappear from India each year to feed the sex slave trade than from any other country.
The US Congress pretends not to know about the statistics so that India can continue to be rewarded economically by the US, but the facts are not all that much of a secret - so what is their excuse?
